Home Solutions, a Nordic Propeye company — specialists in energy efficiency and green transformation for housing cooperatives — has recently initiated an extensive project with BRF Toppsockret in Farsta. The climate-smart and environmental award-winning housing cooperative, with its 143 apartments built in 1963, is now taking a big step towards an even more sustainable future. Utilizing advanced IMD solutions (Individual Metering and Billing) and temperature measurement from Home Solutions, the housing cooperative is embracing the latest technology.
Contributing to both financial- and environmental goals simultaneously
During the third and fourth quarters of 2024, electricity meters and temperature sensors will be installed in all apartments of BRF Toppsockret. By implementing individual metering for electricity consumption, residents will no longer have to pay individual fixed grid fees and will simultaneously gain better control over their electricity usage through a mobile app.
In addition to electricity meters, temperature sensors will also be installed in all apartments to monitor the building’s heating. These sensors enable efficient balancing and energy optimization of the heating system, which can lead to significant energy savings and provide better information for the property manager and residents who feel their apartments are too cold. Once the system is in place, it will facilitate the expansion to include hot water metering, which will be installed during the upcoming pipe replacement. Members will then be able to view all their energy data in the same mobile app.
