The partnership brings a smart smoke detector solution to the Swedish real estate and residential housing market. The solution is the first of its kind in Sweden to include 24/7 emergency support, made possible by SOS Alarm. Home Solutions is bringing the solution to the market immediately for only 29 kr per smoke detector per month.

According to LSO (Swedish law on protection against accidents), the property owner has a responsibility to ensure that each apartment has a functioning fire alarm. However, in 90% of all indoor fires in Sweden, a functioning fire alarm is not present. Since approximately 60% of all fires (or 18 per day) happen in multi-tenant buildings, this means that lack of fire alarms presents a huge headache for commercial real estate owners and the board members of residential housing associations. The most common causes for absence of fire alarms are device removal by tenants, empty batteries or that no smoke detector was ever installed. The smoke detector solution by X2 Wireless and Home Solutions prevents this by sending warning notifications to an app and an online platform, where battery- and device removal are reported.

The device also sends temperature data that can be used for temperature monitoring or even control of heating systems, and it does not stop there. What makes the solution truly invaluable is that in case of fire, an alarm is instantly sent out to SOS Alarm, which is always staffed (24/7/365). This extremely fast response time saves lives.
